The Patriots are back after having a bye week last week. They visit the New York Giants today. Let’s talk about the game. Share your thoughts on today’s game in the comments section.

Giants 1st Possession

  • HUGE TURNOVER FOR THE PATRIOTS! They needed that.

Patriots 1st Possession

  • Patriots get a much needed turnover to start the game but cannot do anything with it.

Giants 2nd Possession

  • Patriots get a big stop and force New York off the field on 3rd and long.

Patriots 2nd Possession

  • Promising drive stalls. Patriots are running the ball well but timing issues in the passing game continue to be an issue.

Giants 3rd Possession

  • Patriots need to bring more pressure on DeVito. They have gotten to him at times but they need to throw him off his spot.
  • Barmore is a monster. Virtually impossible to block one on one in the run and pass game.

Patriots 3rd Possession

  • Patriots running the ball on this possession. Keep pounding!
  • WHAT THE HELL IS JONES DOING???? Why force that ball on a single receiver side??? Jones cannot stand prosperity. Has to play outside the system and do his own thing.

Giants 4th Possession

  • Patriots defense stands tall once again but the offense needs to get their crap together and put a drive together.
  • FOX forcing us to relive Super Bowls 42 and 46 is such bullcrap! Enough. We get it! The game sucks so far and they need to fill time but not like this!

Patriots 4th Possession

  • Passing game just sucks. They cannot get into any kind of a rhythm.
  • Can’t put a drive together. Everything is so hard for this team offensively right now.

Giants 5th Possession

  • Giants Equally inept on offense. Only difference has been they have completed a couple of passes unlike the Patriots who can’t complete a pass right now.

Patriots 5th Possession

  • Patriots moving the ball on this drive. They need to eep t simple. Run the ball, utilize the three step and quick five step passing game.
  • Hey a big completion on 3rd and 15. It’s about time!
  • In a game where points will be at a premium, your quarterback makes another poor decision and screws you once again. What’s worse, the offensive line cuts an edge rusher ;loose and Douglas doesn’t sight adjust his route seeing that he is the hot in that situation. Operational failure.

Giants 6th Possession

  • Patriots defense finally breaks and gives up a touchdown. Can only play so many snaps before they give up points.

Patriots 6th Possession

  • Protection issues, poor decision making almost led to another turnover and the Giants getting a short field again.

Giants 7th Possession
–  Defense gets another stop and if I were the Patriots, take a knee and go into the room.

Patriots 7th Possession 

  • Zappe Hour. Here we go!

  • Patriots had to go for it. Need points out of this drive.

  • FINALLY! Patriots needed that. Zappe 5 for 5 on the drive. The change pays off. 7-7 with 8:02 left in the third.

  • O’Brien kept it simple there for Zappe. Perimeter screens, throws to the backs and outside the hashes. All designed to get him into a rhythm.

Giants 8th Possession

  • Patriots defense gives up the long completion to Hyatt but then the pass rush took over. 5 sacks for the defense today.

Patriots 8th possession 

  • Decent start to the drive but then it stops. Take the training wheels off of Zappe.

Giants 9th Possession 

  • Defense getting pressure on DeVito but need to get there.
  • Defense gets another stop. Playing well once again.

Patriots 9th Possession 

Back to your regularly scheduled programming. A pick. Jones, Zappe it doesn’t matter. Good people, bad quarterbacks.

Patriots 10th Possession 

  • Just can’t get anything going in the passing game. The running game is still there.

Giants 11th Possession 

  • Defense steps up again, picks up their sixth sack of the game.

Patriots 11th Possession

Patriots drive down but Chad Ryland misses a game tying field goal with 5 seconds left. You cannot make this crap up.
