NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reported on Friday that the Patriots have inked special teams ace Brendan Schooler to a three year, $9 million dollar extension.
The deal is worth $9 million with $3.6 million in guaranteed money and an additional $1.5 million available in incentives.
Schooler joined the Patriots as an undrafted free agent in 2022 and has appeared in 38 games for the team. He has 32 tackles career tackles and four fumble recoveries over the past two seasons.
Schooler was an All-Pro last season and is widely regarded as one of the best special teams players in the NFL. He has filled the enormous shoes of Matthew Slater who retired after last season.
Schooler and the Patriots take on the Houston Texans at Gillette Stadium on Sunday.
