Patriots Draft: Patriots sign 8 of their 11 draft picks and 16 undrafted free agents

The Patriots announced that they have signed rookie wide receiver Kyle Williams, center Jared Wilson, defensive tackle Joshua Farmer, EDGE, Bradyn Swinson, kicker Andy Borregales, offensive tackle Marcus Bryant, long snapper Julian Ashby and cornerback Kobee Minor.

The Patriots also signed undrafted rookie free agents: Guard Cole Birdow, wide receivers Demeer Blankumsee and Efton Chism III, guard Jack Conley, cornerback Brandon Crossley, tight end C.J. Dippre, fullback Brock Lampe, runnimg back Lan Larison, safety Josh Minkins, cornerback Jordan Polk, linebacker s Elijah Ponder, and Cam Riley, defensive tackle Jahvaree Ritzie, tight end Gee Scott Jr., wide receiver Jeremiah Webb and quarterback Ben Wooldridge.

Williams was drafted in the third round and gives the Patriots a much needed big play threat in the passing game. Wilson projects as a center but he is athletic and can play guard as well. In fact, long term he could end up at guard.

The defense was also bolstered with Farmer and Swinson. Both are explosive pass rushers who can affect the pocket and throw quarterbacks off their spot. Swinson has big time upside.

Borregales should be the team’s kicker. He has a big leg and he was consistent in college. Ashby will replace Joe Cardona as the team’s primary long snapper.

Bryant was a good value pick later in the draft and has a chance to make the team as a swing tackle. Minor was Mr. Irrelevant but can play corner or safety and be used in sub packages and on special teams.

As far as the undrafted feee agents, the five to keep an eye on regarding making the team are Dippre, Conley, Ponder, Larison and Ritzie. Crossely, Birdow and Riley are also strong candidates.
