Patriots announce several roster moves

The Patriots announced today the signings of tight ends Tyler Davis and Cole Fotheringham and former Shepherd Hill and Boston College standout center Alec Lindstrom. In addition, tackle Yasir Durant has been waived-injured and wide receiver Demeer Blankumsee and running back Trayveon Williams have been released.

Davis, 28, originally entered the NFL as a sixth-round draft pick of the Jacksonville Jaguars in the 2020 NFL Draft out of Georgia Tech. The 6-foot-5, 252 pound Davis was released by Jacksonville at the end of training camp in 2021 and was signed by the Indianapolis Colts to their practice squad. Davis was signed by the Green Bay Packers off the Indianapolis practice squad. Overall, Davis has played in 39 games with one start and has 8 receptions for 61 yards. Davis spent the last two seasons on the Green Bay practice squad.

Fotheringham, 27, entered the NFL as a rookie free agent with the Las Vegas Raiders on May 13, 2022 out of Utah. The 6-foot-4, 245-pounder, spent his first two seasons (2022-23) on the Raiders practice squad before being elevated for two games late in the season. Fotheringham was released by Las Vegas at the end of the 2024 training camp and spent time during the year on the practice squads of both Houston and Las Vegas. Fotheringham was signed by the Denver Broncos on May 12, 2025 but was released in June.

Lindstrom, 27, spent the last two years in the UFL playing for the Memphis Showboats. The 6-foot-3, 300-pounder, is a native of Dudley, Ma. and played college football at Boston College. He originally entered the NFL as a rookie free agent with the Dallas Cowboys in 2022 and spent the season on the practice squad. After being released by Dallas after training camp in 2023, Lindstrom spent the spring of 2024 with the Memphis Showboats. Lindstrom signed with the Los Angeles Rams last August but was released before the start of the regular season. He was signed by the New York Jets practice squad on Oct. 9, 2024 and then signed to the 53-man roster on Oct. 31 and made his NFL debut on special teams vs. Houston. He was released by the Jets on Nov. 16, 2024. He is the brother of Falcons All-Pro guard Chris Lindstrom.
