The Patriots have signed former Eagles and Vikings receiver Jalen Reagor to their practice squad. The 2020 first round pick famously went one pick before Justin Jefferson.
A speedster from TCU, Reagor was supposed to be a guy who can take the top off of defenses and make big plays but he never materialized into that type of player. Instead, he has been a depth receiver and kick returner thus far in his career.
Reagor will provide the Patriots with depth after they placed Tyquan Thornton on injured reserve yesterday. He could potentially be active for the opener against the Eagles.
The 24-year-old Reagor was traded to Minnesota prior to last season. He spent last season on the active roster and made some plays but he couldn’t really carve out a role for himself in the offense this preseason.
Reagor is another “flier” guy with potential but how much he actually plays with the Patriots remains to be seen. Thus far in his career, he has failed to make enough plays to consistently stick on an NFL roster.
