Patriots activate A.J Brown, make other roster moves ahead of Jets game

The Patriots made a series of moves ahead of tomorrow’s game against the Jets. Headlighting the moves, wide receiver A.J. Brown has been officially activated to the 53-man roster. Brown had been placed on injured reserve on September 12 following an injury sustained in the team’s season-opener at Seattle.

Along with Brown’s return to the active roster, the Patriots elevated safety Elliott Davison to the 53-man squad from the practice squad for the second consecutive week. The 24-year-old defensive back made his NFL debut last week during New England’s 45-17 victory over Las Vegas, logging one tackle on defense and another on special teams. Standing 6-foot and weighing 200 pounds, Davison originally entered the league as an undrafted free agent with the New Orleans Saints on April 4, 2025, out of UTSA. After spending his entire rookie season on New Orleans’ practice squad, he attended training camp with the Saints this past summer before being waived on August 30, 2026. He then signed with New England’s practice squad on September 3, was briefly released on September 14, and rejoined the practice unit the following day.

To round out the transactions, the team released running back Hassan Haskins from the practice squad. The 26-year-old, 6-foot-2, 228-pound back originally signed with the Patriots in August and started the regular season on the practice squad. He was temporarily released on September 14. A former fourth-round pick by Tennessee out of Michigan in the 2022 NFL Draft, Haskins spent two seasons with the Los Angeles Chargers after being claimed off waivers in 2024. Over his NFL career, Haskins has appeared in 44 regular-season games with one start, accumulating 229 rushing yards and two touchdowns on 76 attempts, 18 receptions for 199 yards and a touchdown, as well as 646 yards on 28 kickoff returns.
