New England high school preview — Week 6
A ton of quality matchups this week as we get, for the most part, deep into league play. Here are the ones we have our eyes on for now. Methuen at Billerica — These might be the two best teams in the Merrimack Valley Conference, or at least close to it. Methuen’s offense seems to have hit its stride. Billerica is coming off a nice win over Tewksbury. This is a fun one…….
Are we on the cusp of seeing a new Mac Jones?
It’s pretty clear that the majority of the fan base doesn’t believe in Mac Jones as “the guy” going forward. Frankly, he’s given no reason to believe in him. But, the team feels differently. Both Bill O’Brien on Tuesday and Bill Belichick on Wednesday expressed confidence in Jones and said he would be the starter this Sunday when the 1-4 Patriots travel to Las Vegas. Belichick bluntly said “yeah, we…
Can the Patriots offense be fixed? Some recommendations on how it can be done
Image courtesy of New England Patriots By Jon Lyons NEFJ Correspondent The Patriots offense has been bad all season, but the past two weeks have been asteroid-hitting-the-Earth level bad for a unit that was able to consistently outscore opponents during a 20-year dynasty. On Tuesday morning, Brian Belichick was just one of the defensive assistants – along with offensive assistants – that met with the media inside Gillette Stadium. For the Belichick kids, hearing their father’s name dragged through social media, on the radio and on various national media outlets is nothing new, especially whenever the franchise that was so successful for 20 years has such an ugly down period like its having…
Troy Brown knows what bad days in Foxborough really look like, believes things can turn around
Image courtesy of NFL.com If you’re as old as I am (35), you may not remember the Bill Parcells and Pete Carroll days vividly, but you know what some bad football looks like. Currently, it’s about as bad around here as it’s been since even before those guys. There’s one coach who has seen it all from the 90’s up until now and it’s Troy Brown. Brown played for Parcells…
College Dudes of the Week-Week 6
Plenty of dude worthy performances this weekend in Division One College Football in the area. Here are this week’s Dudes of the Week. Thomas Castellanos may have saved Boston College’s season with his performance on the ground. Castellanos carried the ball 31 times for 142 yards and 4 rushing touchdowns in the Eagles 27-24 win. DUDE! Fellow Eagle Pat Garwo rushed for 111 yards on just 14 carries in the win…….
