I cannot believe it is already week 8?? What the hell?? Pretty we will be shoveling snow up here in the northeast. Any way, here are my week 8 picks.
1:00 ET Tennessee -6 At Cleveland 46.5: The Titans had a huge come from behind win over the Colts on Monday night and they will look to build some momentum against a Browns team that has once again switched quarterbacks and has no direction on offense. Taking the Titans here at a -6 is a no brainer.
1:00 ET Jacksonville -3.5 At Indianapolis 43.5: Despite being 2-4 and playing without Andrew Luck, the Colts have played hard. They have been a tough out at home. I don’t buy Jacksonville. They are too inconsistent. I am going to put my money on the underdog Colts at home.
1:00 ET At Minnesota -5.5 Baltimore 38.5: The Ravens have a lot of problems on offense and Joe Flacco is really struggling right now. Facing the Vikings defense isn’t going to help Flacco turn things around. Take the Vikings as a home favorite. The number is manageable.
1:00 ET At Miami -3 NY Jets 38: The Jets stunned the Dolphins at home in Week 3 beating them 20-6. Miami is playing better since then having won two in a row. The Jets have exceeded expectations thus far this season but I have a feeling they will come back to reality moving forward. I like Miami as a home favorite.
1:00 ET At Buffalo -3.5 Tampa Bay Off: The Bucs have been a major disappointment thus far and now Jameis Winston is banged up. Now they travel to Buffalo to battle a much improved Bills team that has played well at home. At -3.5, the Bills are an easy take here. The Bucs give me no reason to pick them.
1:00 ET Carolina -3 At Chicago 40.5: The weather could be a factor in this one. You know what that means? RUN THE FOOTBALL! The Bears running game has been better thus far and they are at home. I am putting my money on them as a home dog.
1:00 ET New Orleans -4.5 At Green Bay 47.5: No Rodgers, no chance for the Packers. Brett Hundley looked awful after replacing Rodgers last week. The Saints defense isn’t as good as the Vikings defense but that won’t matter. I think this will be a shootout and that favors the Saints.
10/22 1:00 ET LA Rams (At London) -3.5 Arizona 47: This could be a shootout given that the Rams have improved on offense. Arizona can run the football again and they make big plays down the field. Expect a high scoring affair and based on that, I am taking the Cardinals as a road dog.
10/22 4:05 ET Dallas -6 At San Francisco 47: The Cowboys have Ezekiel Elliott again which means they will have their full complement of weapons o offense. They should cover no problem against a 49ers team that is terible in all three phases of the game.
10/22 4:05 ET Seattle -5 At NY Giants 40: The Giants upset the Broncos last Sunday night but don’t expect another upset this week. Seattle is coming off of a bye and they have had two weeks to prepare for this game. They should have no problem beating a Giants team that has no one to throw to.
10/22 4:25 ET At LA Chargers -1 Denver 40.5: The Broncos are going to be chomping at the bit to get back on the field after last week’s embarrassing home loss to the Giants. The Chargers are such a hard team to figure out. They have won their last two road games but they seem to look out of sorts at home. That is why I am taking the Broncos as a road dog.
4:25 ET At Pittsburgh -5.5 Cincinnati 40.5: The Bengals have been playing much better of late but they are facing a Steelers team that has had their number at home in recent years. If the Steelers can win in Kansas City, they can win in Cincinnati. Put your money on the black and gold.
10/22 8:30 ET At New England -3.5 Atlanta 56.5: People can talk about the Falcons getting revenge all they want. It’s not going to happen. I don’t buy a Falcons team that can’t beat the Bills and Dolphins at home. Sorry. I am putting my money on the Pats in this one with confidence. I don’t care that their defense is bad.
10/23 8:30 ET At Philadelphia -4.5 Washington 49: The Eagles might be the best team in the NFC now that the Packers are without Aaron Rodgers. If Philly wants to lay claim to that notion, they need to win games like this. The Redskins have played well in Philly in recent years but I am buying the Eagles big time right now. I am putting my money on them in this one.
