NFL: Week 6 Picks

Deshaun Watson will have a big game against the team that should have drafted him.

It is week 6 in the NFL season and looking at the schedule, there are a lot of risky plays this week. Here are my picks for week 6.
10/15 1:00 ET At Houston -9 Cleveland 47: The Browns actually played well defensively but Deshaun Watson and the Texans have been a different team at home offensively. -9 is an easy number for Houston to cover in what could be a blowout.
10/15 1:00 ET New England -9.5 At NY Jets 47.5: In the last five years, the Patriots have only beaten the Jets twice by a touchdown or more. In other words, these two teams play close games. That I why I am taking the Jets as a home dog. I the Patriots will win but the Jets will cover.

10/15 1:00 ET At Atlanta -13 Miami 45.5: Buffalo beat the Falcons in Atlanta 23-17 two weeks ago. Based on that, I am taking Miami as a road dog. -13 is too rich a number for me to take the Falcons as a home favorite.

10/15 1:00 ET At New Orleans -4.5 Detroit 50: This could be the best game of the day. Both teams can score points but I think this game will be a tight one. That is why I am taking the Lions as a road dog. The Saints offense isn’t what it once was. They aren’t as explosive as they once were.

10/15 1:00 ET Green Bay -3 At Minnesota 45: The Packers have traditionally struggled in Minnesota but given the Vikings injuries on offense, I don’t see how they can exploit a vulnerable Packers secondary. I am confidently picking Green Bay in this one as a road favorite.

10/15 1:00 ET At Baltimore -6.5 Chicago 39: The Ravens are an easy take here. The Bears struggled on offense last week despite making the switch to rookie quarterback Mitchell Trubisky. Baltimore has been annoyingly inconsistent this season but they should win by a touchdown or more in this game.

10/15 1:00 ET At Washington -11 San Francisco 46: The Niners have struggled thus far this season but I have a feeling they will play well today against a Redskins team that is Jekyll and Hyde. Put the money on the Niners as a road dog. Washington wins but the Niners cover.

10/15 4:05 ET At Jacksonville -2.5 LA Rams 42.5: This could be one of the best defensive games of the year. Expect a low scoring affair in this one. It could come down to a field goal. I like the Jags as a home favorite in what could be a 16-13 type of game.

10/15 4:05 ET Tampa Bay -1.5 At Arizona 46: I am putting my money on the Cardinals as a home dog in this one. I think Adrian Peterson will have a productive debut against a banged up defense and the Cardinals will get consistent pressure on Jameis Winston. Put the dough on the Cardinals.

10/15 4:25 ET At Kansas City -4 Pittsburgh 47: The Chiefs will win by a touchdown as they avenge their playoff loss to the Steelers from last season. Kansas City is the best team in the AFC and they will reinforce that notion today.

10/15 4:25 ET At Oakland -3.5 LA Chargers 50.5: The Chargers always play the Raiders tough in Oakland and expect more of the same today. I think the Raiders will win this game but only by a field goal. I am putting my money on the Chargers at +3.5.

10/15 8:30 ET At Denver -11.5 NY Giants 39: Denver’s offense isn’t exactly explosive but Eli Manning doesn’t have anyone to throw to so the Giants will struggle to score against one of the league’s best defenses. Take the Broncos as two score favorites.

Monday Night
10/16 8:30 ET At Tennessee -5.5 Indianapolis: Screw it! I’m going with the upset pick here. I am taking the Colts at +5.5. Why not? Marcus Mariota may not play and if he doesn’t, Tennessee will struggle offensively.
