NFL: Thanksgiving Day Picks

Matt Stafford and the Lions face a must win against the Vikings today.

Thanksgiving day football is a tradition unlike any other in sports. Nothing beats family, food and football. Here are my Thanksgiving day picks.

11/23 12:30 ET Minnesota -3 At Detroit 44.5: This is a big game for both teams. Detroit traditionally plays well at home on Thanksgiving and this year should be no different. The Lions don’t win pretty but they always find a way to win close games.

Detroit needs to win this game in order to stay in the NFC North title hunt and I think they will. The Vikings defense is talented but inconsistent. I sense an off day for them. I’ve got the Lions as a home dog in this one.

11/23 4:30 ET LA Chargers -2 At Dallas 48: The Cowboys are a shell of the team they are with Ezekiel Elliott. Elliott accounts for 42% of their offense this season and with him out of the line up, Dallas just doesn’t have that one player you need to account for defensively. That is why I’m taking the Chargers in this one. I think Dallas will score points but I think this will be a shootout,

11/23 8:30 ET At Washington -7.5 NY Giants 44.5: The Redskins flat out choked last week. They need to win this game to have any shot at making the playoffs. I think they’ll get it done. The Giants had an emotional win over the Chiefs last week but the fact of the matter is, they scored 12 points. That’s pathetic. The Redskins should win this game and cover with ease.
