NFL Large: Week 14 Preview and Picks

Russell Wilson and the Seahawks invade Lambeau Field to battle Aaron Rodgers and the Packers in a key NFC showdown.

12/11 1:00 ET At Tennessee -1.5 Denver 44: The Broncos have been good on the road the past two seasons. That’s why I don’t understand how Tennessee could be a home favorite?

With Trevor Simien back, the Broncos offense should get back on track against a generous Titans defense. I like Denver as a road dog in this game. It just makes too much sense.

12/11 1:00 ET At Carolina -1 San Diego 49: The Bolts have played well on the road this season picking up big wins in Atlanta and Houston. I’m tempted to take them but I won’t.

The Panthers are desperate and they get Luke Kuechly back. They probably won’t make the playoffs but they have a shot. Albeit, a long shot. Regardless of that, I like Carolina as a home fav. Take em!

12/11 1:00 ET At Indianapolis -6.5 Houston 47.5: Indy blew it in the first meeting in Houston but I don’t see them losing this game. The Texans are terrible on the road and being a touchdown favorite is not a big number for the home standing Colts.

That’s why I have no problem taking them. I know Indy’s defense is terrible but they’ll make enough plays against Brock Osweiler and win this game.

12/11 1:00 ET Cincinnati -5 At Cleveland 41.5: I’m taking the Bengals without hesitation in this one. Cleveland will go winless this season. It’s time to accept that fact and move on.

12/11 1:00 ET Pittsburgh -2 At Buffalo 45.5: The Steelers are back on track and they could be the most dangerous team in the league heading into the playoffs.

Buffalo blew it last week in Oakland and I think they blew any chance of making the playoffs. I like the Steelers in this game. I think they’ll cover easily as a road favorite.

12/11 1:00 ET Arizona -2 At Miami 43.5: The Dolphins came back to earth last week after getting rolled by the Ravens. I think they’ll bounce back this week as a home dog and beat the Cardinals.

Arizona is a shell of the team they were last season. They won’t make the playoffs this season. I like the Dolphins to bounce back and win at home.

12/11 1:00 ET At Detroit -7.5 Chicago 42: Call me crazy but I’m taking the Bears as a road dog. I don’t buy Detroit. I think the undermanned Bears will give them all they can handle.

I think Detroit will win this game but it won’t be by a touchdown. They’ll win by a field goal. I’m taking the Bears as a road dog.

12/11 1:00 ET Minnesota -3.5 At Jacksonville 38: I think this will be an ugly offensive game. I like the Vikings as a road favorite but don’t expect too many points between two teams that are a mess offensively right now.

12/11 4:25 ET At Tampa Bay -2 New Orleans 51: The Bucs need to win this game if they want to stay in the division and playoff hunt.

The Saints playoff hopes are slim and if they lose this game, their season is over. Sorry Saints fans, the season is over. “The Young Bucs” will win again and stay in the thick of it in the NFC South. I’m taking them as a home favorite.

12/11 1:00 ET Washington -2 At Philadelphia 47.5: Redskins, Eagles is always a war and this game will be no different.

The Eagles are 4-1 at home this season and they have been good at Lincoln Financial. The Redskins have git the skid hard, losers of two straight. I think it’ll be three straight. I’m putting my money on Carson Wentz and the Green Birds in this one.

Take the Eagles. It’s a solid home dog pick.

12/11 4:05 ET At San Francisco -3 NY Jets 43: I know the Jets have been awful this season but how the hell are they underdogs in this game? It really makes no sense.

The 49ers are terrible. They can’t scor and can’t stop anyone. I know the Jets are a train wreck right now but they are less of a train wreck than the Niners. I’m taking the Jets as a road dog in this game.

12/11 4:25 ET Seattle -3 At Green Bay 44.5: Seattle as a road favorite? Yes please. The Packers face a must win situation and that’s a precarious position to be in when you face the Seahawks.

I’m taking the Seahawks as a road favorite in this one. Russell Wilson and company have proven they can win games like this away from home.

12/11 4:25 ET Atlanta -5.5 At Los Angeles 45: The Falcons needed a game like this to stay in the NFC South race. The Rams can’t score and their defense is all of a sudden vulnerable.

The Falcons will be a little short handed offensively but they should be able to score enough points to win this game by a touchdown.

12/11 8:30 ET Dallas -4 At NY Giants 46.5: The Giants beat the Cowboys in Week 1 but this is a different Cowboys team. They are the best team in the conference and they are playing like it.

This will be a war but I’m taking the Cowboys as a road favorite. They will run the football and get consistent pressure on Manning. I think they’ll win by a score.

12/12 8:30 ET At New England -6.5 Baltimore 45: The Patriots struggled at times last week without Rob Gronkowski and they’ll miss him in this game.

Baltimore comes into Foxborough sporting the league’s number one defense. They’ll be a tough match up for Tom Brady and company.

-6.5 is a big number for the Patriots to be favored by at home. These two teams play tight games at Gillette and this one will be no different.

I’m taking the Ravens as a road dog. I think New England will win but it will by less than a touchdown.
