Change is in the air in Green Bay.
Ten thoughts on the week that was in the NFL.
1. The Lions found some coal in their stocking after choking away a chance at a potential playoff spot with a 26-17 loss to the Bengals.
2. Changes are coming to Green Bay. I can see defensive coordinator Dom Capers and general manager Ted Thompson both retiring at season’s end.
3. The Chiefs have turned their season around and much of their recent success has to do with offensive coordinator Matt Nagy calling the plays. He took over the play calling from Andy Reid a few weeks ago and the move has paid dividends.
4. The Browns are going to finish 0-16. How can new general manager John Dorsey possibly feel good about retaining Hue Jackson? He’s won one freakin game in two seasons!
5. The Baltimore Ravens are going to make the playoffs and yes, they are a dangerous team but it is hard to buy them when they win games as ugly as they do.
6. The legend of Jimmy G continues to grow in San Francisco. What a performance on Sunday against the league’s number one defense. Garoppolo shreaded the Jags! The Niners have a chance to finish the season on a five game winning streak with a win over the Rams on Sunday.
7. I am still trying to figure out what the Cowboys game plan was on Sunday against the Seahawks? Why didn’t they give Zeke Elliott the ball more in the red zone? Senseless!
8. Forget about the Eagles and Vikings. When the dust settles, it’s the Rams and Saints that could end up playing each other in the NFC Championship game.
9. The Steelers needed to demolish the Texans so they can get their confidence back after losing to the Patriots. Pittsburgh is still a legit contender in the AFC, trust me.
10. I don’t think the Eagles are as bad as they looked Monday night but they are far from a Super Bowl contender.
