NFL: Dime Package for Week 11

Some thoughts on the week that was in the NFL.

1. Firing coordinators in-season is a way of life in the NFL. I feel bad for Mike McCoy of the Broncos and Ken Norton Jr. of the Raiders but the reality is, there were experienced alternatives already on staff.

2. The Chiefs loss to the Giants just reinforces the notion that I am a fool. I was foolish enough to think Kansas City was a contender.

3. We got some clarity in the NFC this past weekend. We found out the Vikings are legit after dominating the Rams at home. We also learned that the Saints are far from a fluke after their come from behind win over the Redskins.

4. The Steelers look like the best team in the AFC but I still don’t buy them defensively. I still don’t think they match up well with the Patriots

5. John Elway is right. The Broncos are soft. They are toast!

6. The Bills were going in the right direction three weeks ago. Then their defense imploded and they started rookie quarterback Nathan Peterman, who also imploded against the Chargers. Five interceptions in a half is pathetic.

7. The Patriots demolition of the Raiders just reinforced the notion that New England is still the prohibitive favorite to represent the AFC in the Super Bowl. Again!

8. If the Patriots do get to Minneapolis, there is a good chance they could play the Philadelphia Eagles. Carson Wentz and company are running through the NFC.

9. The Cowboys are a bottom feeders without Zeke Elliott. Dak Prescott looks lost without him.

10. Don’t count out the Falcons in the NFC. Winning in Seattle is a big deal.
