NFL At Large: Doc’s Thoughts on the Divisional Round Playoff Games.

The bandwagoneers are jumping ship in Seattle.

1. The Patriots returned to form against the Chiefs because Julian Edelman played. Edelman is the Patriots most important receiver, even more important than Gronk. He is a tremendous route runner and he enables the Patriots to get the ball out quick. That helps Brady and the offensive line.

2. The Packers lost to Arizona fair and square on Saturday night but they did get screwed. The officiating was awful! The officials missed two holding calls on Cardinals left tackle Jared Veldheer on Arizona’s go ahead touchdown. They also missed an offensive pass interference penalty on wide receiver Jaron Brown in the end zone. They also missed a PI on Jeff Janis two plays before the Hail Mary play. Bottom line, the officiating was awful. It didn’t cost Green Bay the game but it didn’t help.

3. The Carolina Panthers suck at closing games out. They almost blew yesterday’s game. They better figure it out because they won’t beat the Cardinals on Sunday playing a two quarter game.

4. If the Steelers were healthier, they would have beaten Denver. I really believe that. That being said. The Broncos defense is legit. They will give the Patriots problems on Sunday.

5. Early Predictions

Carolina over Arizona

New England over Denver
