New Merrimack head coach Gennetti brings in 5 on first NSD

Being a college coach in today’s recruiting world is hard enough. Being a new head college coach during NSD when you haven’t really had time to recruit your own guys, that’s even harder.

After taking over for longtime head coach Dan Curran in December, Mike Gennetti had his first National Signing Day at the helm of the Warriors program on Wednesday and brought in five new players. Back in December, Merrimack had 15 kids commit on the first NSD.

No longer competing in the NEC, Merrimack is in a bit of an odd spot until joining a conference again, which makes the talent that Gennetti was able to bring in that much more impressive. Recruiting kids and not being able to tell them they can go compete for a conference title and maybe make the FCS playoffs is not an easy selling point by any means.

Gennetti has also been busy finalizing his staff over the last week or so as well with several moves.

North Andover will be welcoming these guys to campus very soon…
