Eli Raridon, TE
HT: 6’6 1/8
WT: 245 lbs
School: Notre Dame
Eli Raridon is a towering, athletic tight end prospect who has overcome early-career injury hurdles to emerge as one of the most physically imposing targets in the nation. Standing at a legitimate 6’6″, he offers an elite frame and massive catch radius that makes him a natural mismatch against linebackers and smaller defensive backs. A former standout basketball player, Raridon carries his weight exceptionally well, combining prototypical size with the fluid movement skills required of a modern “Y” tight end.
Our scouting report on Eli Raridon.
Hands: Raridon possesses soft, reliable hands and elite concentration. He is a “natural” catcher who effortlessly snatches the ball out of the air away from his frame rather than letting it get into his body. His massive 10.75-inch hands allow him to secure the ball instantly, even in high-velocity situations.
Routes: For a player of his stature, his route running is surprisingly sharp. He displays fluid body control through his breaks, using subtle fakes and shoulder leans to displace defenders. He is efficient at the top of his cuts, rarely needing extra steps to work back toward the quarterback.
Receive Long and Short: He is a versatile weapon across all three levels of the field. In the short game, he is a reliable possession target who uses his frame to shield defenders. However, he also possesses the long speed and verticality to stretch the seam and become a legitimate deep threat.
Run After Catch: A dangerous threat once the ball is in his hands. Raridon catches the ball in stride and transitions into a runner immediately. He is deceptively elusive for a 250-pounder, using a strong stiff-arm and enough agility to make the first defender miss.
Blocker: Raridon is a highly willing and technically sound blocker. He brings a basketball player’s footwork to the run game, sustaining blocks with a wide base and good hand placement. He is particularly effective in the open field, where he can mirror and neutralize second-level defenders.
Release: He is difficult to disrupt at the line of scrimmage. Raridon uses his superior length and physical play style to avoid being jammed, and he is not easily held up by physical coverage. He has the strength to fight through “re-routes” and stay on his designated path.
React to Ball/Crowd: He is a “tough-as-nails” performer who shows no hesitation coming over the middle. Raridon remains focused in traffic, consistently coming down with the ball despite impending contact. His height allows him to play above the crowd in the red zone and on contested 50/50 balls.
Initial Quicks: Raridon explodes off the ball with impressive acceleration. He gets into his route stem quickly and possesses an “extra gear” that catches defenders off guard, allowing him to stack linebackers vertically or pull away on crossers.
Final Scouting Report: Eli Raridon projects as a high-end starting tight end at the NFL level with “pro-bowl” upside. His combination of rare size, catch-point dominance, and functional movement makes him a nightmare for defensive coordinators to account for in personnel groupings. While he is already a plus-blocker, his primary value is as a rhythmic pass-catcher who can act as a safety valve or a primary vertical threat. If he remains healthy, he has the tools to be a cornerstone of a professional passing attack.
