It seems like no matter what he does, Jim Mora can’t go wrong lately.
Following a historic year and a Fenway Bowl win, the Huskies added 18 transfers on Thursday, highlighted by Notre Dame transfer offensive lineman Ty Chan. Now, Mora has named his new offensive pass game coordinator quarterbacks coach in what feels like a home run hire.
John Brice of Football Scoop is reporting that Pryce Tracy will be joining UConn this season.
Last year, Tracy served as an offensive analyst for Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs during their SEC championship run. Tracy also has experience with Nick Saban during his time at Alabama working on the recruiting side of things. Tracy spent five years at Notre Dame with various roles on that staff. He’s also coached running backs at Vanderbilt and has coaching stops at Arkansas Tech and Idaho.
In the spring of 2021 the Idaho rushing offense averaged 166 yards per game with Tracy involved. While with Notre Dame, he helped the Fighting Irish to four bowl games and three victories in them. Notre Dame won 10 games twice and capped off Tracy’s time with the program with a win over LSU in the Citrus Bowl. Tracy spent most of his time with the quarterbacks and the special teams unit.
Last season, UConn had the 56th ranked offense in FBS, but won nine games for just the third time in program history.
The Huskies open the 2025 season on August 30 against in-state rival CCSU at The Rent.
