Maine continues building with large National Signing Day class

The Jordan Stevens rebuild has entered the ‘we’re almost there’ phase.

Maine came up with some major upsets a year ago and won five games en route to a 5-7 campaign that legitimately put the Black Bears back on the map when it comes to competing in the CAA.

Now, the goal is legitimately pushing the other top teams and building a roster that can get back to the FCS postseason.

Stevens and his staff took another big step forward towards doing that on NSD Wednesday, officially adding five true freshman along with 12 transfers. Those are in addition to the seven recruits that previously committed during the first National Signing Day back in December.

Isaiah Ervin | 6’5″, 190 lbs, DB | Houlton, Maine (Houlton)
Three-year captain and All-Conference in 2024. 2024 Sports Illustrated Maine Offensive Player of the Year. Fitzpatrick Award finalists, awarded to the top high school football player in Maine. 3,538 passing yards, 52 passing touchdowns, 4,801 rushing yards, 83 rushing touchdowns, 14 interceptions, 147 tackles in four years. North Regional runner-up.

Lawson Foley | 6’3″, 210 lbs, LB | Scituate, Mass. (Scituate)
65 tackles, 12 tackles for loss, six interceptions, a defensive touchdown, and three sacks senior year. 143 total tackles, 20 tackles for loss, nine interceptions, one TD and six sacks in his career. 2024 Super Bowl champion. Two-time Division 4 Athlete of the Year. Three-time Patriot League All-Star. Patriot League MVP.

Wazyn King | 6’3″, 240 lbs, DL | East Orange, N.J. (East Orange)
55 tackles, 5.5 sacks, and 15 tackles for loss  as a senior. All-Conference junior and senior seasons and All-State as a senior.

Kamden Tiller | 6’0″, 170 lbs, DB | Richmond, Va. (Glenn Allen)
Six interceptions, five pass breakups, 22 tackles, and five touchdowns senior year. First Team All-Region and First Team All-Metro. 2023 Defensive Player of the Year. Second Team All-Region, Second Team All-Metro.

Bryceson Wise | 6’2″, 205 lbs, LB | New York, N.Y. (Bridgton Academy)
Game captain at Bridgton and had a 64-yard interception return for a touchdown in his first game. Played varsity at Hudson Catholic (NJ) and for Archbishop Stepinac.

2024 Captain and First Team All-Conference. 29 receptions for 410 yards with five touchdowns as a senior, added 32 receptions for 330 yards and three touchdowns his junior year. Four consecutive winning seasons for first time in program history along with first-ever playoff berth.
