Laube impressing Vegas teammates already

Dylan Laube hasn’t even been to his first training camp with the Las Vegas Raiders yet, but he’s already made a strong impression on some of his teammates.

One teammate in particular – running back Alexander Pattison – who formerly played for the Vikings, recently spoke about Laube briefly in an interview with Vegas Sports Today.

Mattison was asked who stood out from minicamp and he instantly brought up the speedy running back out of UNH.

“The rookie we just drafted Dylan Laube, I think he definitely has a great shot of making this team his rookie year,” he said. “He’s a great rookie to have in the running back room and I’m excited to see how he can impact this team as well.”

Laube was selected 208th by Vegas in the draft this past April. Laube brings a ton of energy, is a tough SOB and is also a dynamic playmaker that head coach Antonio Pierce and the rest of the Raiders’ staff fell in love with during the whole pre-draft process. Laube showcased his ability to run crisp routes like a receiver at the Holy Cross Pro Day and during his time as a Wildcat was a dangerous weapon on both kick offs and punt returns.

While he’s no lock to make the Raiders’ roster still, if he’s able to impress veterans like Mattison this early on even without pads on yet, it’s hard to imagine Vegas won’t find a roster spot for him somewhere. If they don’t, one lucky team will undoubtedly scoop him up in free agency once camp bodies start moving around.

Whatever happens, we should be hearing Laube’s name on Sunday’s quite a bit this season.
