After recently committing to Holy Cross, Tabor Academy wide receiver Kaiden Drinkwater has decommitted from the Crusaders and committed to Coastal Carolina instead.
Drinkwater, a three star recruit will be joining former Leominister teammate Osiris Lopez in Conway. It was a surprising move considering Drinkwater’s recent commitment to the Crusaders.
Drinkwater held several FBS offers from schools like Boston College, Cal, Maryland and UConn but surprised people with his decision to commit to Holy Cross. Now, three weeks later he flipped his commitment to Coastal Carolina.
I am sure Lopez played a role in getting Drinkwater to flip as the two former teammates are still very close. The opportunity to potentially play together was obviously too much to pass up for Drinkwater.
Other factors probably led to Drinkwater changing his mind including NIL and potential playing time. The bottom line is, Drinkwater saw a potentially great opportunity for himself and he is taking advantage of it.
Drinkwater is poised for a big senior season and he will continue to garner interest from bigger programs across the country.
