After a strong finish to a disappointing year – Holy Cross won back-to-back games to close out the season, including a blowout over Georgetown at Fenway Park – Dan Curran and his staff brought 10 new players into the fold on NSD Wednesday.

The Crusaders built positive momentum heading into the offseason and this is a great start in trying to maintain that positive momentum heading into Year 3 for Curran at the helm of the program.

This is a class that’s pretty diverse in terms of geography around the country and there’s a Canadian on board as well. This particular group is from eight different states…Massachusetts, Florida, New Jersey, North Carolina, Georgia, Texas, Colorado and Maryland. The Canadian signing hails from Manitoba.

With five true defensive players (and one two-way potentially) the emphasis on that side of the ball isn’t surprising, given how physical and nasty the Holy Cross program usually wants to play, The offensive additions could all have a shot to immediately help on that side of the ball, especially after this past season when that unit struggled mightily at times.

The other key piece to any recruiting class for Holy Cross is the fit. The school up on the hill in Worcester isn’t for everyone, and it takes a certain kind of athlete to wear the purple and white while also being a dedicated student.
