Holliston hires Mike Yurof to be next head coach

On Thursday, the Holliston athletic department announced the hiring of Mike Yurof to replace Todd Kiley as the program’s head football coach.

Kiley took the Franklin job this offseason after Eian Bain left for Bridgewater-Raynham.

As stated in the announcement, Yurof has nearly 30 years of coaching experience at both the high school and college levels. He has coached at Bishop Feehan, where he is an alum. He was an offensive coordinator at Framingham under Gary Doherty. He was the head coach at Oliver Ames from 2002-05. He also coached at Bryant University under Marty Fine, and UMass-Boston for Paul Castonia.

Yurof has big shoes to fill, as Kiley built the Panthers into one of the premier programs in the state. When Kiley took over, Holliston was a mid-level program in the Tri-Valley League. The Panthers went on to win seven TVL titles, and state titles in 2010, 2014, and 2015.

It will be an interesting first year for Yurof as he hopes to build on that legacy. This year, in addition to a strong TVL slate, the Panthers have intriguing nonleague games with Canton, Middleboro, defending D3 state champ Milton, and Grafton.
