Hasselbeck already holds offers from UAB, Pitt, Bowling Green, Dartmouth, Georgia Tech and Western Michigan. The offer he and his family wanted however finally came in.

“I think it’s a huge deal for any Massachusetts kid to get offered by BC. For me, it may have meant a little more because of what B.C has been to our family. I was most excited to tell my sisters about it because they’ve been recruiting me to BC from the very beginning.”

The Hasselbeck football legacy at Boston College is well documented with Henry’s dad Matt and uncles Tim and Nathaniel all playing football at the school. According to Henry however, they are not the ones recruiting him to Boston College. It is actually his sisters.

Mallory and Annabelle Hasselbeck are both members of the nationally ranked women’s lacrosse team and they have been recruiting Henry the most.

“My sisters are the most fired up. They’ve been recruiting me from the beginning.”

Hasselbeck has committed to Maryland to play lacrosse but is open to playing football in college instead.

“I’m still very much open to playing football in college instead, so I’ll see how the football recruiting process goes. Taking it one day at a time, and just doing my best.”

So far the process has been good and with seven offers on already on the table, Hasselbeck should garner more interests from other schools as well.

After transferring from Belmont Hill prior to last season, Hasselbeck earned the starting job at Xaverian out of camp and improved as the season went. Now he is one of the top returning signal callers in the state and under the tutelage of his dad Matt, is poised for a big senior season.

Hasselbeck will generate even more interest now but the offer he was hoping for finally came through and that could change everything.
