In one of the best stories of the off-season thus far, former Tufts wide receiver Jaden Richardson announced on Tuesday night that he is committing to USC.
The former Tufts wide receiver is making the rare jump up to FBS football from Division 3. Richardson is a native of San Mateo, California and he attended the Menlo School.
The graduate transfer caught 46 passes for 830 yards and 13 touchdown passes this past season for the Jumbos.
Standing at 6-3 210 pounds, Richardson is a big target who gets body position on defenders and can box them out in contested catch situations. He has strong hands and does a good job of attacking the ball in jump ball situations. He is a great fit in Lincoln Riley’s offense.
Signing Richardson helps USC replace two of its top receivers in Tahj Washington and Brenden Rice. USC also lost talented receiver Mario Williams to the transfer portal.
Richardson’s 20 career touchdowns are a program record for Tufts. Now he is bringing his talents back home to help revive a USC program that finished 8-5 this past season.
