Marblehead’s Miles O’Neil commits to Texas A&M

Former Marblehead High School and current The Hun School of Princeton quarterback Miles O’Neil has committed to Texas A&M.

The talented 6-5 220 pound signal caller picked the Aggies over Michigan State, Penn State and Pittsburgh. O’Neil made the announcement last night on his Twitter account.

O’Neil’s recruitment skyrocketed since he announced after last season that he was transferring to the Hun School of Princeton to play for Coach Todd Smith. O’Neil worked with M2’s Mike McCarthy and most recently worked with Tony Racioppi down in New Jersey.

O’Neil held 14 total offers including one from Boston College and one from UConn. The three star recruit ultimately chose playing at A&M for Jimbo Fisher and offensive coordinator Bobby Petrino. Fisher and Petrino’s experience plus the chance to play in the SEC was ultimately too much to pass up.

O’Neil’s meteoric rise illustrates why many kids today are opting to go the private school route. It is a game changing decision and O’Neil is proof of that.

O’Neil was getting recruited at Marblehead and he played for a great staff. He would have posted great numbers. Ultimately, he wanted more exposure and a chance to get in front more college coaches nationally. He and his family decided to made the move to The Hun School and the move has paid off.
