In a surprising move, former Holy Cross quarterback Matthew Sluka has reportedly committed to UNLV. This according to both On3 Sports and 24/7.

After weeks of speculation that Sluka might ultimately join former coach Bob Chesney at James Madison but he opted to head west and play for Barry Odom.

Odom needs a quarterback after Mountain West Freshmen of the Year Jayden Maiava transferred to USC. Junior Doug Brunfield is expected next season for the Rebels.

The 6-3 216 pound Sluka is a native of Locust Valley, New York and attended Kellenberg Memorial. Sluka has been one of the top dual threat quarterbacks in all of FCS football the past three seasons and has played well against FBS competition.

Sluka, a Walter Payton Award finalist at Holy Cross each of the last two years, has 5,916 career passing yards, 3,583 career rushing yards and 97 career total touchdowns.

We will have more on this developing story.
