Gibbs played his high school ball at Everett High School where he excelled as an athlete on both sides of the ball. He moved to the secondary when he got to Kingston. In 2022 as a freshmen, Gibbs appeared in four games in 2022, mostly on special teams.

Gibbs was named CAA rookie of the year after finishing second in the conference in interceptions. Gibbs started ten games this season and only allowed one touchdown pass. He took advantage of a playing in a revamped secondary that graduated several key contributors from the season before in Jordan Jones and Henry Yianakopolos.

At 6’0, 180 pounds, Gibbs has good length and athleticism. He can match-up on the outside against bigger receivers but is also twitchy enough where he can line up in the slot in certain calls and either cover a slot receiver or a move tight end. He has terrific ball skills and excels as either a squat Cover 2 corner or as a match-up corner in the red zone.

Gibbs says that his visit to Georgia Tech sold him on being a Yellow Jacket. He loved the campus, the direction the program was going in and playing for head coach Brent Key and his staff.

Gibbs should excel playing in the ACC and he has enough eligibility that he will have time to develop and possibly play on Sunday.
