The biggest highlight of week five has to be the return of Tom Brady. He reminded us what makes him so great yesterday.
Here are ten thoughts from Week 5.
1. I think it’s time Chip Kelly gave Colin Kaepernick a shot in San Francisco. At this point, he can’t be any worse than Blaine Gabbert has been.
2. In case you forgot that Tom Brady is arguably the greatest quarterback of all time, he drops 400 plus yards and 3 touchdown passes on the hapless Browns. The GOAT is back and so are the Patriots.
3. Speaking of the Patriots, so much for the Ravens being a threat to them in the AFC. Looks like I took the cheese this off-season. Baltimore is not that good, especially on offense.
4. You know who is good offensively? The Steelers. They absolutely hammered a Jets team yesterday that looks lost. From Todd Bowles to the coaches to the players, the Jets look out of it.
It looks like it could’ve a long season in Gotham.
5. Stop the presses! Carson Wentz threw an interception! It appears that the road to Canton has hit a snag. Wentz is human after all.
6. You know why the Vikings are 5-0? Good defenses alway stops good offenses, that’s why. The Vikings are legit because they pack a championship caliber defense and it can play anywhere.
7. By the time Bengals got off the bus, it was 28-0 Cowboys. Talk about a listless performance from a team that was expected to contend in the AFC.
What has happened to the Bengals? There is still talent on the roster. It doesn’t make sense.
8. Maybe the Falcons are for real? I know they faced a rookie quarterback in Paxton Lynch but to go into Denver and beat the defending champs the way they did is still pretty impressive.
Dan Quinn has the dirty birds flying again.
9. Rumors are circulating in San Diego that Mike McCoy’s job is on the line after yesterday’s 34-31 loss to the Raiders.
Really? I think McCoy has done a good job of keeping the Chargers together after the catastrophic injuries to Keenan Allen, Danny Woodhead and Jason Verrett.
How many teams can lose three players of that caliber and still compete? Not many.
That’s a testament to McCoy and his staff. He shouldn’t be fired during the season in my opinion.
10. Just like the Ravens, I jocked the Giants in the pre-season and they are making me look like an idiot too!
The G-Men are a mess. They can’t run the ball and the defense is underachieving.
Instead of taking notes on his play sheet sometimes, maybe Ben McAdoo should pay more attention to the performance of his team.
