Dedham & Sharon to co-op for 2 years

Dedham High School officially announced today that it has entered into a two-year football cooperative agreement with Sharon High School.

The alliance between the two programs is designed to help them navigate shrinking participation numbers in both programs and get them back on track.

The two-year deal features a rotating structure that balances the identity and home-field advantage of both schools over the course of the agreement.

The scheduling for the newly formed squad will see them competing in different conferences each year. For the 2026 season, the team is set to play a Hockomock League Davenport division schedule. During this inaugural year of the co-op, the team will lean heavily into Sharon’s branding, wearing the Eagles’ uniforms and utilizing Sharon High School as its primary home site. However, fans in Dedham will still have the opportunity to support the team locally, as the schools have committed to hosting a select number of games at Dedham’s facilities during the fall of 2026.

The arrangement undergoes a complete reversal for the 2027 season to ensure equitable representation for both towns. In the second year of the agreement, the team will transition to a Tri-Valley League Small division schedule. Along with the change in competition, the team’s visual identity will shift to the Marauder uniforms of Dedham High School.

Dedham will serve as the primary host for home games throughout the 2027 campaign, though the partnership maintains its flexible by scheduling a few designated home games to be played in Sharon.
