Daily Script for July 21st 2016

1. It’s awfully noble of Ray Rice to donate a potential salary to domestic violence organizations but the fact of the matter is, he’s over the hill and tainted. No team in the league wants anything to do with him.

2. Packers president Mark Murphy told shareholders today that the organization is trying to land the NFL Draft in either 2019, 2020 or 2021. As a Packers fan, I love the idea. In reality, the Packers have no chance of landing the draft. I’ve been to Green Bay. There are no hotels and nothing to do. It’s not going to happen.

3. It’ll be interesting to see if Roger Goodell reinstates wide receiver Josh Gordon on August 1st. Goodell met with Gordon today and the signs point to Gordon getting reinstated.

4. The Steelers released Matt Spaeth. Looks like second year tight end Jesse James will get an expanded role in the Steelers offense.

5. Redskins defensive tackle Kedric Gholston is right. The players have no one to blame but the themselves for Roger Goodell having the amount of power that he has. Gholston is right. They screwed themselves over.
