It’s time to put a bow on the 2025 high school football season in the state of Connecticut.
Greenwich (Class LL), New Canaan (Class L), Windsor (Class MM), Berlin (Class M), Hand (Class SS), and Sheehan (Class S) all captured state titles over the weekend.
New Canaan completes a wire-to-wire run as the top team in our rankings.
Here’s our Final Top 25 with the conclusion of the season:
1. New Canaan (13-0) – The wire-to-wire No. 1 team, the Rams were dominant on their way to their fourth consecutive Class L title. They beat Cheshire 34-13 for the title after blowout wins in the quarterfinals and semifinals.
2. Greenwich (11-2) – Greenwich showed why they were the preseason favorites to win the Class LL title as they earned a one-sided 45-6 win over Southington in this year’s 2025 Class LL state title. They finished this season with an 11-2 record defeating Staples, Fairfield Prep, and Southington in the postseason.
3. Hand (12-1) – Hand proved its regular season was no fluke, rolling to the Class SS title. They rolled over Waterford and Nonnewaug before snapping Killingly’s 25-game winning streak with a 37-13 win in the title game.
4. Berlin (13-0) – The Redcoats finished this season as one of two undefeated teams in the state of Connecticut, securing the Class M title with a 20-15 win over Brookfield, with a last-minute kickoff return for a touchdown. Berlin defeated Platt Tech, Holy Cross, and Brookfield in the postseason.
