By Jon Lyons NEFJ Correspondent The Patriots are 2-9. Nearly everything about the once dynastic team is bad. Week in and week out, they find new ways to lose or new mistakes to make. Despite this, there are three players whose effort and play continue to stand out. In a lost season, the play of Christian Barmore, Kyle Dugger and Jabrill Peppers has been strong and showed that those three…
Image courtesy of USA Today The Patriots dropped to 2-9 on the season thanks to an ugly 10-7 loss to the Giants in New York. Once again, the offense was putrid and the defense was good. It is the same script we have seen all season from this team. Here are seven points from today’s game. 1. Mac benched at the half: Mac Jones was awful in the first half…
The Patriots are back after having a bye week last week. They visit the New York Giants today. Let’s talk about the game. Share your thoughts on today’s game in the comments section. Giants 1st Possession HUGE TURNOVER FOR THE PATRIOTS! They needed that. Patriots 1st Possession Patriots get a much needed turnover to start the game but cannot do anything with it. Giants 2nd Possession Patriots get a big…
The Patriots visit the New York Giants today looking for their third win of the season. Coming off the bye week, the Patriots coaching staff has had a lot of time to reflect on what they can fix, change and add. I do think we will see some wrinkles today. Here is how the Patriots should attack the Giants today on offense and defense. Offense 1. Run the ball out…
Apparently benching Mac Jones during a two minute situation in Germany did not spell the end of his Patriots career. According to the Boston Herald’s Andrew Callahan, Jones is expected to start today against the Giants in New York. NBC Sports Boston’s Phil Perry reported on Friday that Jones and Zappe split starter reps this past week but no one in the building knew who was going to start today….
Kickoff: The Patriots are back off of last week’s bye week. The last time we saw them was two weeks ago when they lost 10-6 to the Colts in Germany. Many considered that loss the low point of the season but with six games left in the season, it could get worse. The Giants are coming off of a home win over the rival Washington Commanders. Here are four keys…
The highly anticipated Will Grier debut some Patriots fans were hoping for is not going to happen. Grier was released today to open up a roster spot ahead of tomorrow’s game against the Giants. If the Patriots do make a quarterback change moving forward, it is going to be Bailey Zappe who takes over for the beleaguered Mac Jones. Grier’s release comes as a surprise but it really shouldn’t. The…
When it comes to Mac Jones, the Patriots are in a tough spot. Like it or not, they have to play him. Patriots offensive coordinator Bill O’Brien met with the media earlier this week and said that all three quarterbacks are getting first team reps at practice. Does that mean that Jones has been benched? Not necessarily. Jones can still get the bulk of the reps and be the starting…
The Patriots return off their bye week this week. They travel to New York on Sunday to take on the Giants in a game that has major draft pick ramifications. The Patriots are currently 2-8 and hold the third pick in the draft. The Giants are 3-8 after their 31-19 win over the Commanders yesterday. They are currently picking fifth. New England needs to do everything they can to stay…
The Patriots have a bye week this week. At 2-8, they are tied for the worst record in the league. They have not been this bad since 2000. 1. Unexpectedly bad: I don’t think anyone saw this coming. We all thought the Patriots would much improved after last season’s disappointing 8-9 record. Instead, they have been far worse. The offense is a bigger mess than last season, they are undisciplined…
