We had an opportunity to catch up with Catholic Memorial quarterback Kise Flannery on Monday after he committed to Harvard. Here is what Kise had to say after announcing the news on Sunday evening.
NEFJ: Aside from the great education, why else did you decide to commit to Harvard?
KF: “Aside from the great education, the coaching staff was a huge reason I decided to commit to Harvard. Coach Aurich has a lot of experience coaching high level football and Coach Fein as well has devolved many great quarterbacks and I feel they will help me develop into the best player I could be. Along with this, being close to home and near my family especially my siblings is extremely important to me.
NEFJ: How much of a role did your family and Coach DiBiaso play in your decision?
KF: “My family played a huge role knowing I will be close to them and they will be able to see me whenever they want. Coach dibs also played a huge role as ever since I came to cm he has been pushing me for the ivys and when I told him I got the offer his first question was if I took it because he knows how great of an opportunity it is.
NEFJ: How much has playing at Catholic Memorial prepared you for this opportunity?
KF: “Being in a winning program has pushed me harder than ever and helped prepare me for what is ahead of me. Being around such high level athletes at all times we push each other to do better everyday. Honestly, seeing the success of the team and my teammates motivates me to continue working hard and helps me grow as a person and player.
NEFJ: Have you been given any indication of what the coaching staff’s plans are for you at Harvard?
KF: “I haven’t gotten much indication yet all I know is I’ll be ready for whatever is asked of me and I will put my best foot forward.
NEFJ: How awesome is it to get the opportunity to continue your playing career at the Division One level and get a great education at Harvard?
KF: “Coach Dibs has also kept me grounded through everything and helped me remember to stay in the moment and focus on the goal that is ahead next season
