Chase Bedrossian recently announced he is reclassifying and going from Bishop Hendricken to Williston Northampton. We caught up with him to find out why he ultimately chose to transfer.
NEFJ: What made you decide to leave Bishop Hendricken for WNH?
CB: “The reason I decided to reclass and transfer from Hendricken was because it was a great opportunity that I did not want to pass up on. It was also beneficial for me to reclass because it will help me in my recruitment and where my goal is to play in college football . Hendricken has got me to this point in my career and I love it there but this is just an opportunity that I couldn’t take for granted.”
NEFJ: What has Coach Beaton told you about where you will play? Are you playing both ways?
CB: “Coach Beaton has been great to me . He said that he loves me at tight end and along the defensive line. I will be playing both at Williston.”
NEFJ: How difficult was it to leave a great school like Bishop Hendricken?
CB: “It was a tough decision to leave Hendricken as it is such a great school and the coaches are also great . I started my freshman year playing football and they have developed me to the player I am now so I am forever thankful for that. My coaches understand this is a great opportunity for me and they are wishing me the best.”
NEFJ: What role did your family play in this decision? Are you prepared to live on your own?
CB: “My family helped me a lot also through this decision. They support my decision all the way and believe that this will benefit me. They also appreciate everything Hendricken has done for me and couldn’t be more thankful to everyone who has helped me get to this point. I am prepared to live by myself and this will help me mature and get me ready to be by myself for college.”
NEFJ: What are your short term and long term goals at WNH? What are you hoping to gain from the experience?
CB: “My goal is to win a NEPSAC championship at Williston and help the team in any way I can for the next two years. I am hoping to have another successful year which hopefully help boost my recruitment more.”
