I got a chance to catch up with Vincent Busa after his commitment to Sacred Heart earlier today. It was a trying week for Busa but in the end, it all worked for him and he is excited about being a Pioneer.

Here is my interview with Busa.

NEFJ: Why did you commit to Sacred Heart? What appealed to you about the program?

VB: Sacred Heart is an amazing place and campus but the reason I committed to Sacred Heart is because of the community and the people that are on the campus.

NEFJ: Has Coach Nofri and the staff told you where they think you will play?

VB: I will be playing defense next year at the will linebacker position but anything can happen so I just have to do the best I can to be prepared for everything.

NEFJ: How tough was this week? How were you able to get past the disappointment and move on to Sacred Heart?

VB: This week is what others would say stressful or disappointing but to me and my family it was a blessing. I am now going to Sacred heart University and this where I want to be and I can’t wait to be apart of the family.

NEFJ: How big a role did your family and Coach Fornaro play when it comes to this decision?

VB: I wouldn’t be here if it was not for all my Xaverian coaches. Coach Fornaro, Coach Carven and Coach White have all done there best to get me where I am. They kept me positive throught the whole situation and I just had to trust their word and it all worked out. My family has had a huge impact on my career and without them I would not be able to perform on the field. I am extremely grateful for all of the people who have helped me get this opportunity. My parents have always believed in me and supported me throughout everything and I am extremely appreciative of how hard they work and how much they care about me. My two brothers Anthony and Dominic motivate me to be the best player I can be and to work as hard as I can. All my cousins, aunts and uncles have also supported me throughout every step of the way so I am forever thankful for my family. I can’t thank Coach Fornaro enough for always having my back and supporting me while also being hard on me so that I was still able to learn life lessons and to never give up!
