We caught up with Chelmsford lineman Thomas Brown who committed to Villanova earlier this week.
Brown is very pleased with his decision and is excited to be joining a program with the rich history of Villanova. He looking forward to the opportunity to help the Wildcats in the short and long term.
Here is what Brown had to say about his commitment.
NEFJ: Why Villanova? What appealed to you about the school academically and athletically ?
TB: “Villanova has a great football team with some phenomenal academics. They have great coaches that seem like they really care about the kids and every player that I spoke to on the team said that they have loved it there.”
NEFJ: What has the staff told you about what you will play and when they expect you on the field?
TB: “Coach Devine (Offensive line coach Sean Devine) had come up to school and had called me a few times and I loved every conversation that I had with him. The coaches there definitely see me at either guard or center.”
NEFJ: How much of a role did Coach Peterson and your family play in this decision?
TB: “Coach Peterson and my parents always said through the recruiting process that at the end of the day it’s my decision and they are just going to give me their opinion on it. I definitely couldn’t have done it without Coach Peterson. He was texting and calling coaches almost every day to help me out. Both my parents were very supportive of me through the whole process and they also love all of the coaches down at Villanova.”
Brown still has the rest of his football season and wrestling coming. He has plenty to prove before his high school career wraps up.
