I had a chance to speak with BB&N running back Bo MacCormack on Saturday night after he announced he was committing to Boston College.

The Westford native had originally verbally committed to Syracuse but changed his mind last week and decided to stay closer to home and play for Bill O’Brien and the Eagles.

One of the most productive and decorated running backs in state history, MacCormack also held offers from ten other schools including: Nebraska, UMass, Charlotte, Delaware, Rutgers, UConn, Buffalo, Army, Rhode Island and Old Dominion. He ultimately pivoted and came back to B.C when the current staff offered him again.

Here is what Bo had to say as to why he chose to commit to Boston College.

NEFJ: Why did you decide to flip and commit to BC?

BM: “It has always been a dream of mine to play for Boston College. Especially being a local kid.”

NEFJ: What about Boston College appealed to you that made you decide to commit?

BM: “After talking with Coach O’Brien, I just really liked having the opportunity to help bring the program a championship.”

NEFJ:  What role did your family and Coach Willey play in this decision?

BM: “My family helped me out a lot in making the decision and it is great to be able to be nearby family. Coach Willey, I trust as much as anyone outside of my parents and sister so having him there to help me throughout the process and support me whatever I decided was awesome.”

NEFJ: What can Boston College fans expect from Bo MacCormack? We know how special a player you are. What do they have to look forward to?

BM: “I am focused on trying to help in any way I can. I want to bring a championship home to B.C and I cannot wait to compete there.”

MacCormack will be looking to finish his high school career with an ISL Large title and a NEPSAC Bowl victory. The Knights are currently 7-0 after their big 28-22 win over Tabor Academy on Friday.
