Joe Flacco and the Ravens are facing a win and you are in scenario today. The final week of the regular season is upon us. There is still plenty to be decided as teams try to make the playoffs and secure seeding. Here are my week 17 picks. 12/31 4:25 ET At Baltimore -9.5 Cincinnati 40: It’s a win and your in scenario for the Ravens. Baltimore will win this…
The New Years Six Bowl games kicked off with the Cotton Bowl last night. There are two more major bowl games today with the Fiesta Bowl and the Orange Bowl. Here are my previews and predictions for today’s games. TaxSlayer Bowl (Noon ET) No. 23 Mississippi State vs. Louisville (-5.5): Another game where a coaching change could affect the outcome of the game. Dan Mullen left Mississippi State last month for…
The Patriots signing of James Harrison was a good move by Bill Belichick but let’s not pretend like Harrison is going to put the Patriots “over the top”. There is no question Harrison will bolster the Patriots lackluster pass rush but he is 39 years old and hasn’t exactly been productive the last three years. Harrison is a shell of the player he once was and his value to the…
Business is about to pick up today with the first of the New Years Six Bowl being played tonight when Ohio State battles USC. That is the highlight game but there are several good match ups. Here are my picks for today’s games. Belk Bowl (1 p.m. ET) Wake Forest (-2.5) vs. Texas A&M: Interim coach situations can be tough so it will be interesting to see if Texas A&M comes…
Mike Leach and his Cougars will look to cool off Washington State. Military Bowl: Virginia vs. Navy (-2.5): Navy by 2.5 in Annapolis? I’ll take those odds any day of the week. I don’t see Virginia stopping Malcolm Perry and the Midshipmen’s flexbone triple option. I like Navy in this game and I like them big. Like, three scores big. Camping World Bowl: Virginia Tech vs. Oklahoma State (-6): I…
Boston College (7-5) battles Iowa (7-5) in the Pinstripe Bowl. Both teams like to run the ball down hill and they play a physical brand of defense. For Boston College to win this game, the Eagles are going to need to win the line of scrimmage. The Eagles are certainly capable of doing that but it will not be easy. Here are three keys for the Eagles in this game. …
A.J Dillon will be looking to put on a show today for a national audience. There are great match ups on the bowl schedule for today. The Pinstripe Bowl between Boston College and Iowa is the best match up of the day. Here are picks for today’s bowl games. Independence Bowl: Southern Miss (+12) vs. Florida State: Florida State doesn’t want to be in this bowl game. Southern Miss does….
Change is in the air in Green Bay. Ten thoughts on the week that was in the NFL. 1. The Lions found some coal in their stocking after choking away a chance at a potential playoff spot with a 26-17 loss to the Bengals. 2. Changes are coming to Green Bay. I can see defensive coordinator Dom Capers and general manager Ted Thompson both retiring at season’s end. 3. The…
Game Rewind: After a slow start, the Patriots were able to pull away in the fourth quarter and blow out the Bills in what was a closer game than the score would indicate. Here are five thoughts on the game and more. 1. Bills Came to Play: Say what you will about the Bills, but they came to play. Buffalo went toe to toe with the Patriots for three quarters….
Josh Rosen is not expected to play tonight in the Cactus Bowl. Heart of Dallas Bowl: Utah vs. West Virginia (+6.5): This game should be similar to the Birmingham Bowl. It will be a back and forth affair and the team with the ball last, wins. Both teams last three of their last five games down the stretch and finished their respective seasons on a down note. This game will…
