According to Atlanta Falcons defensive end Calais Campbell, Mac Jones might be the worst trash talker he has played against in his career. At least that is what he told The Athletic’s Josh Kendall.
Atlanta DL Calais Campbell, a 16-year vet: "Philip Rivers was a good trash talker, but he was never disrespectful, Mac Jones actually, he was kind of disrespectful. I’m like, ‘Hold on, man.’ (It was) just trash talk to the highest level. It was like, ‘You don’t trash talk me.’"

It is hard to believe when you look at Jones and see that his middle name is McCorkle but according to Campbell, Jones is a ruthless trash talker who apparently isn’t afraid to cross the line.
“Philip Rivers was a good trash talker, but he was never disrespectful, Mac Jones actually, he was kind of disrespectful. I’m like, ‘Hold on, man.’ (It was) just trash talk to the highest level. It was like, ‘You don’t trash talk me.”
It is not surprising when see how emotional Jones gets during the course of a game. He literally threw temper tantrums at times last season. While it was hard to blame him, his act also wore thin with the Patriots and fans alike.
Apparently Jones took out his frustrations on his opponents in the form of some nasty trash talking. Campbell did not elaborate on what Jones says but it must be pretty bad for him to talk about it publicity.
Campbell also confirmed Patrick Mahomes statement on the show Quarterbacks that some defensive lineman tend to go easier on nicer quarterbacks when they sack them. I guess that means they won’t be going easy on Jones this upcoming season when they get their hands on them.
The Patriots and Falcons do not play this season so unless they meet in the Super Bowl, Campbell won’t be able to get his mitts on Jones.
It will be interesting to see how much trash talking Jones does this season. Was his trash talk last season a product of frustration or is it who he really is. If he is having a great season, will he up the ante and say more or will he say less? I guess we’ll have to wait to find out.
