The Week 6 poll brings the most change we have seen yet this season. The first three spots remain the same as last week, but four new teams enter the mix. Plymouth South enters after a nail-biting win over Scituate. Weymouth and Wachusett enter for the first time this season after wins over previously-ranked Milton and Leominster, respectively. Methuen rejoins the top 25 after an impressive win over Andover.
1. Catholic Memorial (4-0) vs Malden Catholic – Knights continue to roll. League play starts this weekend.
2. St. John’s Prep (4-0) at BC High – Eagles are well-rested as conference play begins.
3. Springfield Central (4-0) at Longmeadow – Golden Eagles once again blew past a Western Mass. opponent.
4. King Philip (5-0) BYE – Much-needed off week for the Warriors after slugfests against Foxboro and Natick.
5. Barnstable (4-0) at New Bedford – Redhawks are coming off a resounding win over Milford.
6. Central Catholic (3-2) at Methuen – Raiders are coming off an enormous win over two-time reigning D1 champion Xaverian.
7. Xaverian (2-2) at St. John’s (Shrewsbury) – Hawks look to get right this week after consecutive losses.
8. Bishop Feehan (4-1) BYE – Shamrocks dominated BC High last Saturday to stretch the winning streak to four games.
9. Tewksbury (4-0) vs Billerica – Redmen impressed against a tough Chelmsford team.
10. Natick (4-1) BYE – Comeback bid against King Philip came up short.
11. Winchester (4-0) vs Reading – Red and Black continues to steamroll the competition.
12. Canton (4-0) vs North Attleboro – The Hockomock Davenport is going to be a rock fight.
13. North Attleboro (3-1) at Canton – See Canton above.
14. Shawsheen (5-0) BYE – Rams snuck past St. Mary’s on the road. Defense is as strong as ever.
15. Foxboro (3-1) vs Oliver Ames – Warriors look to get back on the winning track coming off their bye week.
16. Plymouth South (3-1) at Quincy – Massive win over Scituate puts this team in the driver’s seat in the Patriot League.
17. Weymouth (5-0) at Brockton – The path is clear for Weymouth to have an undefeated regular season after knocking off Milton.
18. Scituate (3-1) vs Pembroke – Sailors hope to rebound after a heartbreaking loss to Plymouth South.
19. Methuen (3-1) vs Central Catholic – Can the Rangers pull off another MVC upset?
20. Wachusett (4-0) vs Milton – Should be plenty of points scored against Milton this weekend.
21. Andover (3-1) vs Lawrence – Jay Fielding’s squad is coming off a tough loss to Methuen.
22. Marshfield (2-2) vs Silver Lake – After an 0-2 start, Chris Arouca’s Rams are starting to figure things out.
23. Mansfield (2-2) at Stoughton – Hornets hope to return from the bye week healthy.
24. Milford (3-2) at Attleboro – Terrific first three games. Much tougher go of it the last two.
25. Masconomet (4-1) at Danvers – Pivotal Northeastern Conference matchup on deck vs Danvers.
