Division 1 New England College Football Poll – Week 4

Week Four is in the books. URI held serve at the top with a win over Long Island and the Ivy League debuted with three of the four New England entering the top five.

Boston College was on a bye but the Eagles return to action this week to host Cal. UMass also returns to action this week as they travel to Missouri.

Here is this week’s New England Division One College Poll.

1. Rhode Island (4-0): Rams keep rolling along after a 28-7 win over Long Island. A big MAC test against Western Michigan looms on Saturday.

2. Harvard (1-0): Crimson destroyed Stetson, 59-7 to open the season. Host Brown at the Stadium on Saturday.

3. Yale (1-0): Bulldogs were impressive in their 28-10 win over Holy Cross. Host a tough Cornell team on Saturday.

4. Dartmouth (1-0): Big Green outlast rival UNH, 27-20 in the Granite Bowl. A visit to CCSU is next on the schedule.

5. UConn (2-2): Huskies bounce back with a 31-25 win over Ball State. It wasn’t pretty but a win is a win. They travel to Buffalo on Saturday.

6. Boston College: (1-2): Eagles drop four spots. They host Cal on Saturday after having a bye this week.

7. Sacred Heart (3-1): How about them Pios! Mark Nofri’s squad is playing some good football and they will look to keep it going on Saturday at home against Delaware State.

8. New Hampshire (2-2): The Wildcats lost a tough one to Dartmouth and will look to bounce at home this week against Albany.

9. Brown (1-0): The Bears got off to a good start with a 46-0 win over Georgetown. They will look to make it two in a row versus Harvard on Saturday.

10. Bryant (2-2): Bulldogs lose an OT thriller, 40-38. Return home this week to host Towson.

11. Merrimack (2-2): Warriors bounce back with a big home win over CCSU. A trip to Stony Brook is on tap this weekend.

12. CCSU (2-2): The Blue Devils continue to be up and down after their loss to Merrimack. It doesn’t get any easier this week with Dartmouth coming to town.

13. New Haven (2-2): Chargers have won two in a row after winning their home opener against Saginaw Valley State. A trip to Duquesne is on the docket this week.

14. Stonehill (1-3): Skyhawks have proven the last two weeks that they are good enough to play good competition. Losing 24-21 to Penn hurts the Skyhawks players well. Long Island visits Easton on Saturday.

15. UMass (0-3): Minutemen are coming off a bye and travel to Missouri on Saturday.

16. Holy Cross (0-4): Crusaders tough schedule to open the season is finally catching up to them. A trip to winless Fordham comes at the right time.

17. Maine (0-4): Black Bears lose at Georgia Southern. They return home this week to face North Carolina A&T.
