NEFJ: When did you start playing football?

JC: “I started playing football at the age of seven.”

NEFJ: What do you love about the game of football?

JC: “The thing I love about football is that I am able to not have to think or worry for 1-2 hours and have that excitement and passion doing it.”

NEFJ: What made you decide to commit to Merrimack to finish your career?

JC: “The reason I committed to Merrimack is because I wanted to go to a team where they used their running backs in many ways. Also, the fact that I wanted to receive every blessing I earned and deserve out of my last season in college. I did not want to go to a school where I was not going to play at all.”

NEFJ: How much has Stonehill & Merrimack prepared you for the opportunity to play in the NFL?

JC: “Stonehill & Merrimack prepared me tremendously for an NFL opportunity, because more than half of the battle is mental. Stonehill taught me to grind it out each and every day with your teammates, because you’ll never be able to play college football again with that same exact team. Merrimack taught me to be mental and physically tough, no matter the circumstances. Being able to be versatile at both schools shows I have to ability to play on a bigger stage. Also, it showed me how someone’s presence can change the whole demeanor of a culture and or program.”

NEFJ: When you are not playing football or doing anything football related, what do you like to do off the field?

JC: “Some things I do off the field are reading, journaling, and listening to music or podcasts.”

NEFJ: What is your favorite pregame meal and hype song?

JC: “Favorite pregame meal, I’d say anything carb/protein related: pasta, rice, chicken, and or steak. Favorite hype song is Meek Mill’s Amen.”

NEFJ: What is an NFL team getting in you if they draft or sign you?

JC: “If an NFL team drafts or signs me, they’ll be getting someone that’s coachable, pays attention to detail, is versatile, dynamic, quiet (leads by example), always willing to ask questions and puts in extra work. All while doing it for the greater good of the team.”
