The Patriots are in the desert this week to take on the Arizona Cardinals. The Red Birds are currently riding a three game losing streak so this is a winnable game for the Patriots. If they are going to win, they need to win the one on one match-ups in this game.
Here are five match-ups to watch.
Christian Gonzalez vs. Marvin Harrison Jr.: Gonzalez will match up with the rookie receiver in an effort to eliminate Arizona’s big play capability. Harrison has had a good year and he can make an impact in this game if he is allowed free releases and to get i to space, he will torch the Patriots.
Kyle Dugger vs. Trey McBride: McBride is Kyler Murray’s most reluable target. The Cardinals look to get McBride as many touches as possible. Dugger will be busy in coverage all afternoon. Same with Jabrill Peppers who will match up with McBride as well.
Patriots offensive line vs. Cardinals front seven: The Patriots have a favorable run game match-up against Arizona. The offensive line needs to lean on the Cardinals undersized front and get comsistenr movement. Winning the line of scrimmage will be key in this game.
James Conner vs. Parriots front seven: Connor has been good all season long for Arizona. He is a steong runner and oushes the pile. The Patriots need to get multiple hats to the ball and thry need to finish their tackles on comtact. Conner is a power runner who breakd tackles.
5. Drew Petzig vs. DeMarcus Covington: Good OC/DC mTch-up in this game. Petzig does a good job of moving Murray around and playing to his strengths. The Patriots must find a way to contain Murray both as a runner and passer. We k ow thrir receht history with running quarterbacks.
