The Patriots announced earlier today that quarterback Drake Maye has cleared concussion protocol and is going to start Sunday against the Tennessee Titans.
Maye got hurt last week in the second quarter of the Jets game and did not return. He entered concussion protocol and was a limited participant all week in practice. Now he has been cleared and he is back in the saddle as the starter.
Sunday will be Maye’s fourth start and the offense has been much more productive and efficient since he took over for Jacoby Brissett. Maye completed 63 percent of his passes and thrown for 564 yards and five touchdowns thus far.
The Patriots will look to make two in a row against a Titans team that has struggled and only has one win on the season. Tennessee has made a quarterback change going with veteran Mason Rudolph in place of Will Levis.
With Maye playing, the Patriots chances of winning improved exponentially.
