Class M State Title Game Preview: #1 Daniel Hand Tigers vs. #2 Rockville Rams

Defense will reign supreme in this one vs. two match up in Class M.

Daniel Hand’s defense has been among the best in the state this season. They have surrendered 9.5 points per game this season. They have been one of the best defenses in New England this season along with King Philip (Ma) and Bedford, N.H statistically. The Tigers had six straight shutouts from September 22nd to November 3rd.

Offensively, Hand is led by running back Aidan Dolan who set a school record for rushing Yards. Dolan is a workhorse and he can carry Hand to a state title today.

Rockville’s defense isn’t too shabby either. The Rams shutout three opponents this season and held both Berlin and Holy Cross to 13 points each in back to back 14-13 wins to advance to this state title game.

Offensively, the Rams are paced by junior running back Amir Knighton, one of the top two way players in the state. Knighton returned from a torn ACL last season to score 33 touchdowns this season. He is a dude.

I would expect a low scoring game that could come down to the two featured players.

Prediction- Daniel Hand 21 Rockville 7: Rams keep it close but Hand’s elite defense and Dolan price to be too much in the end.
