Mansfield’s CJ Bell announces transfer to St. Thomas More

Some big transfer news out of the Hockomock League struck this week, as Mansfield’s CJ Bell announced over Twitter that he will be transferring to St. Thomas More.

A starter since his sophomore year with the Hornets, Bell made an impact as a wide receiver and defensive back the last two seasons.

This past fall Bell rushed for 162 yards on 23 carries (7.0 average), and caught 20 passes for 465 yards (23.3 per catch) and a touchdown. Bell also threw two touchdown passes.

Bell is listed at 6-foot-2, 170 pounds, and can play at either side of the ball in college. According to his announcement, Bell plans on reclassifying to the 2025 cycle.

St. Thomas More has beefed up its football program in recent years, and plays a schedule that includes college JV teams. The Oakdale, Conn. prep school has become a landing spot for many different players who hope to boost their college prospects.
