Here are ten thoughts from the weekend that was in the NFL.
1.The Giants stink offensively. Sure, Ben McAdoo can throw Eli Manning under the bus all he wants, but the fact of the matter is, McAdoo’s play calling hasn’t exactly been stellar.
2.The Saints were the perfect hungover cure for the Patriots after their opening night loss to the Chiefs. Is there a worst defense in the NFL? I think you would be hard pressed to find it.
3. Remember when the Jags were a playoff contender? Yeah. That lasted all of one week. THE JAGS ARE WHO THOUGHT THEY WERE AND WE LET THEM OFF THE HOOK!!!
4. Somehow we all forget about the Broncos and they reminded us on Sunday why they are still a legit Super Bowl contender in the AFC.
5. The Packers are soft as puppy crap and a non-contender as far as I am concerned. I am tired of hearing about the greatness of Aaron Rodgers. He can’t will a team that is mentally and physically soft to success.
6. The Raiders curb stomping the Jets the way they did is a good sign that they are legit. You are suppose to beat the hell out of bad teams and the Silver and Black did just that.
7. The Cardinals, Colts game was like sitting through a Melissa McCarthy movie. Awful! Both teams stink and aren’t going anywhere in 2017.
8. The Chargers played in front of 27,000 fans in their home opener on Sunday. IT WAS A SELLOUT! That is pathetic. The NFL and Dean Spanos should be embarrassed by the way they handled the whole thing with San Diego.
9. The Vikings quarterback situation is a mess. Both Sam Bradford and Teddy Bridgewater are having knee issues now. GM Rick Spielman should seriously consider drafting a quarterback next April. This organization cannot move forward with Bradford and Bridgewater as their long term answer at quarterback.
10. Speaking of quarterbacks. The Jaguars signed former Giants and Saints back Ryan Nassib. Nassib played for Doug Marrone at Syracuse. Hmmm. What could Nassib’s signing mean for Blake Bortles? Time will tell.
