AFC Championship Week Means It is Officially Whining Week in New England

It is AFC Championship week in New England. That means Patriots fans are going to whine about how their team is not getting any respect nationally and that Roger Goodell is a piece of excrement for not coming to New England.

It is AFC Championship week in New England. You know what that means right? It’s whining week! That’s right. It is the yearly rite of passage in New England where Patriots fans and the media alike start bitching and moaning about the lack of respect the team gets nationally. It is also a week where Patriots fans will refer to commissioner Roger Goodell as a piece of excrement for not coming to Gillette.

The air in New England is fraught with conspiracy this week. I have already seen a couple of pieces floating around on social media that label the Steelers as bigger cheaters than the Patriots.

According to the conspiracy theorists who penned these articles, the NFL puts the Steelers on a pedestal and protects them when they break the rules. Their proof? A game earlier this year against the Giants where it was discovered that the Steelers were using underinflated footballs. The PSI levels of the Steelers footballs were similar to those of the Patriots when they were busted in 2015. The Patriots were punished, the Steelers were not, therefore there is a double standard.

Give me a break! Maybe there is a double standard and if there is, so what? Who gives a crap! Why do Patriots fans and the local media alike have to whine about it? Why can’t they adopt the us against the world mentality that the team has adopted and accept the fact that their team is reviled.

Why do people get all worked about this nonsense? Does it really matter that the Steelers used underinflated footballs or that Antonio Brown recorded Mike Tomlin criticizing the Patriots? NO!!!! It doesn’t matter. Who cares what they are doing or saying! The only thing that matters is the Patriots winning on Sunday.

I know criticizing the Patriots or Patriots Nation is frowned upon around here and I am sure I’ll be viewed as a heretic for doing it, but I don’t care!

I am tired of the complaining! Just accept the fact that the rest of the league hates the Patriots and is out to get them. It is o.k to be the bad guy. I know the wine and cheese crowd that goes to Patriots playoff games nowadays doesn’t want to hear that, but that’s reality people.

Forget about the “They hate us, cause they ain’t us” B.S! New England needs to embrace the hate and stop bitching. It’s about winning a Super Bowl, not winning a popularity contest.
