NFL At Large: Dime Package for Week 6

Week 6 featured the Gillete Stadium debut of Tom Brady, Colin Kaepernick’s first start and an impressive road win for the Cowboys.

1. The Bengals made life difficult for Tom Brady in the first half but once the Patriots made some adjustments, the GOAT and company turned things around and rolled 35-17.

2. It looks like Colin Kaepernick is not the answer for the 49ers at quarterback either. Let’s call it like it is. San Francisco is terrible. It doesn’t matter who the quarterback is.
3. The Steelers couldn’t have had a worse day yesterday. Not only did they lose to the hapless Dolphins, but they may have lost Ben Roethlisberger due to a meniscus injury. Ouch!
4. What has happened to the Ravens? They’ve now lost three in a row after yesterday’s 27-23 loss to the Giants. Consistency seems to be a issue for John Harbaugh’s team.
When the offense plays well, the defense doesn’t. When the defense plays well, the offense doesn’t. It’s mind numbing!
Needless to say, the Ravens are pretenders.
5. The Eagles are who we thought they were. A mediocre, fringe playoff team.
The national media was ready to call Doug Pederson the best coach in the NFL and they commissioned the making of Carson Wentz bust for Canton, but alas, the Eagles have come back to earth.
6. Imagine if the Browns played defense? They might actually be competitive.
7. Matt Stafford shredded the vaunted Rams defense thanks to the absence of cornerback of Trumaine Johnson. The Rams love and die with the blitz. They died with it yesterday.
8. Dak Prescott has to be the Cowboys quarterback the rest of the season. Up until the week six match up against the Packers, Prescott’s detractors would point to the fact that he hadn’t beaten anyone. Well, that changed yesterday.

Prescott should be the Cowboys quarterback moving forward. If he’s not, then Jerry Jones is more committed to being loyal to Tony Romo than he is to winning.
9. The Falcons lost to the Seahawks and the officials yesterday. They got screwed late in the game. I can’t believe that Richard Sherman wasn’t called for pass interference on Julio Jones.
Not making that call not only cost the Falcons the  game but it makes the league look bad.
10. I can’t say I’m surprised that the Colts gagged against the Texans. Andrew Luck can’t lead a game clinching drive and the defense is awful!
I am going to go out on a limb and say that at 2-4, the Colts will not make the playoffs for the second straight season.
