High School Dudes of the Week: Week 5

Plenty of big time performances this past weekend. Here are Dudes of the Week for Week 5 regionally.

Connecticut

Aaron Champagne, Masuk: Champagne delivered a massive dual-threat performance in Masuk’s 40-14 victory over South Windsor. He completed 15-of-21 passes for 291 yards and three touchdowns through the air, adding 134 rushing yards and two touchdowns on 18 carries. DUDE!

Lucca Boyce, Daniel Hand: Boyce set the pace for Hand’s 35-13 victory over Fairfield Prep, gashing the defense for 170 rushing yards and two touchdowns. DUDE!

Vinny Arrigoni, Bacon Academy: Arrigoni turned limited touches into massive dynamic output during a 36-8 win over Amistad, rushing three times for 88 yards and two touchdowns while adding a 58-yard touchdown reception. DUDE!

Shane Connelly, Guilford: Rushed for 165 yards and three touchdowns on 17 carries in a 35-0 win over Brookfield. DUDE!

Ryan Casey, Lyman Hall: Casey spearheaded an explosive offensive display in a 41-0 win over New Milford, rushing for 116 yards and two scores while completing 7-of-13 passes for 150 yards and two more touchdowns. DUDE!

Anthony Abarno & Chase Bouchard, Plainville: Abarno led Plainville to 4-0 with a surgical night, completing 21-of-30 passes for 266 yards, four touchdowns, and a rushing score in a 40-0 shutout of Tolland. Bouchard was his primary target, hauling in six passes for 101 yards and two scores. DUDES!

Matteo Albano, Windham: Albano put together a elite two-way showcase in Windham’s 19-6 win against East Catholic, carrying the ball 28 times for 185 yards and two scores on offense while making eight tackles and grabbing an interception on defense. DUDES!

Mirsad Cekovic, Bethel: Cekovic pounded out 112 yards and three touchdowns on 16 carries to spark Bethel’s 44-24 omwin against East Lyme. DUDE!

Grant Bozeman, Staples: Bozeman completed 21-of-32 passes for 229 yards and two touchdowns to lift the Wreckers to a tough 14-10 victory over Cheshire. DUDE!

Tyler Costanzo, Sheehan: Dual threat delight. Rushed for 114 yards and two touchdowns. He also threw for 119 yards and a touchdown in Sheehan’s 44-27 win over Platt. DUDE!

Massachusetts

Marcus DeJesus, Andover: DeJesus set the physical tone in Andover’s 34-27 win over Methuen, churning out 217 rushing yards and three touchdowns on 22 carries, while teammate John Stadler chipped in with 177 passing yards and two scores. DUDES!

Caden Smith & Drew O’Keefe, Central Catholic: In a 52-51 instant classic win over Xaverian, Smith was virtually unstoppable, putting up 386 total yards (16-of-22 passing, 237 yards, 5 TDs; 149 rushing yards, TD). O’Keefe came up huge down the stretch, hauling in six catches for 73 yards and a touchdown while drill-ing the game-winning 29-yard field goal. DUDES!

Cole Doyle & Erick Delima, North Quincy: Doyle went off in a 36-26 victory against Somerville, finishing 11-of-18 for 291 yards and five touchdown passes. Delima was his top deep threat, snatching three passes for 88 yards and two scores. DUDES!

Michael Salemi, St. John’s Prep: Salemi put on an absolute clinic in special teams and offense during a 60-35 victory over La Salle (RI). He racked up 322 combined kickoff and punt return yards, added 80 rushing yards on nine carries, and found the end zone five total times. DUDE!

Grayson Foley, Scituate: Foley put the Sailors on his back in a 49-12 win over Plymouth South, exploding for 279 rushing yards and four touchdowns on 18 carries behind a dominant offensive line performance that paved the way for 400 team rushing yards. DUDE!

James Aikey & Dillon O’Brien, South Shore Voke: The duo generated explosive plays all day in a 64-12 victory over Atlantis Charter. Aikey was surgical, completing 13-of-16 passes for 272 yards and six touchdowns. O’Brien dominated in space with 192 yards from scrimmage and three total touchdowns. DUDES!

Vincent Loscerbo & Jaxson Finnimore, Milford: Loscerbo threw for 279 yards and two touchdowns on 22-of-39 passing to lead Milford over Barnstable, 33-20. Finnimore did it all, snaring 10 receptions for 153 yards while scoring both an offensive and a defensive touchdown. DUDES!

John von Barta, Swampscott: von Barta accounted for four total touchdowns in a 52-14 rout of Salem. He completed 7-of-11 passes for 180 yards and a score while adding 96 rushing yards and three touchdowns on the ground. DUDE!

Brady Shuffain & Joseph Seaman, Sharon/Dedham: Shuffain completed 11-of-19 passes for 231 yards and three touchdowns in a 21-12 win against Nauset. All three scoring passes went to Seaman, who hauled in six receptions for 143 yards. DUDES!

Nico Alves & Fode Kaba, Gloucester: The Fishermen offensive line dominated the trenches, creating paths for 370 team rushing yards in a 28-7 win over Winthrop. Alves carried 21 times for 157 yards and a touchdown, while Kaba pounded out 116 yards and two scores on 15 carries. DUDES!

Colin Gerhart & Jack Luccarelli, Norwell: The backfield duo powered Norwell past Abington 41-14. Gerhart broke away for 193 yards and two scores on 20 carries, while Luccarelli added 144 yards and three touchdowns on 17 attempts. DUDES!

Connor Swanson & Domenic Busa, Newton North: Swanson did damage through the air and on the ground (142 passing yards, 2 TDs; 2 rushing TDs) in a 29-18 win over Framingham. Busa matched his passing yards with 142 rushing yards on 22 carries. DUDES!

Emerson Lara-Castro, Lynn Classical: Lara-Castro made his presence felt on both sides of the ball in a 42-0 shutout against TechBoston, rushing 16 times for 153 yards and two touchdowns while racking up 11 tackles. DUDES!

Mikey Johansson & Brajae Wilson, Wayland: Johansson posted an efficient line (16-of-22, 219 yards, 2 TDs) in a 27-0 win over Waltham, while Wilson dominated touches with 208 yards from scrimmage and two scores. DUDES!

Keyon Lungelow-Hilaire & Freddy Brack, Cathedral: Lungelow-Hilaire went 14-of-21 for 202 yards and a touchdown in an 18-6 win over Cardinal Spellman. Brack supplied huge support on both sides, making seven catches for 144 yards and a TD while grabbing an interception. DUDES!

Tony Kayrouz & Ramar Thomas, Catholic Memorial: The Knights offense moved effortlessly in a 35-3 win over Brockton. Kayrouz piled up 129 yards from scrimmage and two touchdowns, while Thomas added 97 scrimmage yards and three total scores. DUDES!

Peter Pavlidis, Andy Riefstahl & Shane Garey, Watertown: Watertown’s defense was lights-out in a 14-7 victory over Stoneham. Pavlidis set the edge with 12 tackles and five quarterback pressures, Riefstahl recorded 6.5 tackles and an interception, and Garey picked off another pass to lock down the win. DUDES!

Jayden Dubios (Milton): Rushed for four touchdowns in a 35-14 win over Acton-Boxboro. DUDE!

Jed Seita & James Joyce (Cohasset): Seita tossed four touchdown passes while Joyce scored three times in a 33-7 win against Randolph. DUDE!

Dan Venezia (Billerica): Rushed for 126 yards and a touchdown while kicking two field goals in a 26-20 win over North Andover. DUDE!

Isaiah Robles & Lucas DeOliveira (Northeast): Robles (12 carries, 144 yards, TD) and DeOliveira (6 carries, 110 yards, 2 TDs) combined for 254 rushing yards and three scores in a 49-15 victory over Dover-Sherborn. DUDES!

Dominick Mercier & Aniel Espinal (Peabody): Mercier posted 143 yards from scrimmage with two scores, while Espinal made seven catches for 57 yards and broke up a critical pass in a 14-7 win over Beverly. DUDES!

Jadiel Ortega (Lynn Tech): Rushed 10 times for 128 yards and a score, plus booted a 38-yard field goal in a 35-0 win over Monomoy/John Paul II. DUDE!

Max Peterkin (Falmouth): Totaled 170 yards and a touchdown, plus recorded an interception and a blocked punt in a 14-13 nail-biter over Nantucket. DUDE!

Nathan Geer (Melrose): Completed 10-of-14 passes for 140 yards and two touchdowns in a 35-21 win over Winchester. DUDE!

Tony Corrado (Medford): Threw three touchdown passes in a 33-0 shutout over Saugus. DUDE!

Cam Croom & Jack LaFond (Westford Academy): Croom scored twice on the ground and LaFond went a perfect 6-for-6 for 90 yards and a TD in a 22-15 win over Lincoln-Sudbury. DUDES!

Hadi Sibay & Quinn Carbone (Shawsheen Tech): Sibay sparked the team with an 85-yard kickoff return TD and Carbone added two touchdowns in a 21-12 win over St. Mary’s (Lynn). DUDES!

Michael Corvino & Ian Baker (North Reading): Corvino threw three touchdown passes and Baker scored twice in a 21-7 victory against Pentucket. DUDES!

Cam MacGregor & Anthony Barrasso (Bellingham): MacGregor threw for 167 yards, while Barrasso snagged three catches for 50 yards and drilled a 43-yard field goal in a 17-7 win over Holliston. DUDES!

Joe Puleo & Connor Scialdone (Amesbury): Both scored two touchdowns in Amesbury’s 46-8 dominant win over Manchester-Essex. DUDES!

Andrew Carney (Nashoba Tech): Impacted every facet with a forced fumble, fumble recovery, a touchdown, and three tackles in a 42-13 win over Greater Lowell. DUDE!

Rhode Island

Joey Marcoccio, (Burriville): Marcoccio exploded for 294 yards and three rushing touchdowns in a big win for the Broncos over Woonsocket.

NEPSAC

Ethan Hatch & Owen DeSalvo, BB&N: Hatch was deadly accurate in the red zone, throwing four touchdown passes on 8-of-18 passing (102 yards), while DeSalvo handled the heavy lifting on the ground with 124 yards and a touchdown on 13 carries in a 45-35 win over Avon Old Farms. DUDES!

Jake Beck, St. Sebastian’s: Beck provided the offensive punch in a rivalry matchup, rushing for two touchdowns to secure a 21-3 win against Belmont Hill. DUDES!
